So the artist also noticed the tiny, tiny Dirk in the last panel, huh?

Reclusive, distant, non-responsive, assumed upset individual standing on the edge of a really tall structure?

Let's not get too dark here, Hussie. D:

Hasn't Dirk always been slightly distant and reclusive?

I'd call him less reclusive and just more completely ignorant on how human contact and interactions really work (for understandable reasons considering he never had any until 5 months of his roughly 17 years of life)

It's his interesting character flaw. For everything he knows and is incredibly competent at, for all the information and strength he likes to flex at others, he completely lacks the knowledge and information to have normal relationships with others. I believe that is why he manages to feel both painfully clingy and quite distant at the same time, he's not aware of the middle ground that good healthy relationships reside He'll probably remain ignorant until he makes the conscious effort to work on it. Of course, in fairness, Sburb is hardly a situation where normal anything applies, but it's definitely something he lacks any sort of knowledge on. I don't see any malice in the way he acts, it's just a human flaw of his that hopefully will get worked on sooner or later.

(sorry for rambling, I had Dirk feels the other day)
