I never really know how to feel about pictures like this. I like non-white versions of the characters, but when you change their hair to be "more black" it sort of lends credibility the idea that they would have to be white if their hair was how it actually is, which is dumb.

Well, a lot of images make the characters hair more realistic-looking in fanart. It's very common to see John and Karkat's hair points dulled down and flattened out because their hair is pretty outrageous 'how it actually is'. To an extent, this just seems to be another way of making the hair more realistic?

There's so much variety in how people draw character's hair already that I find it a bit odd to just point out when hair is made 'more black'.
