Well, there's also the part where Nepeta is quite capable of surviving in the wild on her ('his' in this case?) own. Not just hiding and grazing, she "prowl[s] the wilderness for GREAT BEASTS, and stalk[s] them and take[s] them down with nothing but [her] SHARP CLAWS AND TEETH!"

Well, Nepeta is badass, but most of it comes from being told. Of course she has her moments (double decapitaion anyone?) but generally she just projects adorable to Equius manliness.
